The Centre for Leadership, Negotiation and Public Diplomacy (LNPD) has successfully conducted the Leadership Course for Mid-Level Officers from 18 to 20 August 2026 at IDFR. The course brought together a total of 26 dynamic participants from various Ministries and Agencies, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Prime Minister’s Department, Ministry of Economy, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living, Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation, Ministry of Higher Education, Public Service Department, National Institute of Public Administration, and the Malaysian Information Department.
The course aimed to develop essential leadership competencies, maximise participants’ leadership potential and effectiveness, and strengthen their capacity for strategic leadership within the public service. Throughout the programme, participants engaged in interactive lectures and sharing sessions led by a distinguished line-up of subject matter experts, corporate leaders, seasoned diplomats, and a former senior government official. Among the modules and learning methods exposed to the participants were case studies, interactive workshops, and practical discussions addressing key leadership challenges and competencies relevant to mid-level officers.
Overall, participants demonstrated commendable enthusiasm and active engagement throughout the sessions. IDFR is confident that the course successfully achieved its objectives by equipping these emerging leaders with the competencies and perspectives needed to navigate future challenges in the public service. IDFR remains committed to delivering impactful leadership programmes that respond to the evolving needs and aspirations of the Malaysian civil service.
