The Centre for Leadership, Negotiation, and Public Diplomacy (LNPD) successfully conducted the fourth series of the Pre-Posting Orientation Course for Home-Based Staff and Spouses (Series 04/25) from 22 to 29 September 2025. Tailored specifically for supporting staff and their spouses, the course aimed to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of diplomatic practices, consular responsibilities, and administrative procedures, equipping them for their forthcoming assignments at Malaysian Missions abroad.

A total of 58 participants from various ministries and agencies took part, including the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Prime Minister’s Department, Ministry of Transport, Ministry of Education, Royal Malaysia Police, Malaysian Armed Forces, Immigration Department, Majlis Agama Islam Wilayah Persekutuan (MAIWP), and Majlis Agama Islam Selangor (MAIS).

Over the six-day programme, participants engaged in strategic briefings, hands-on sessions, and interactive discussions designed to strengthen their practical knowledge, intercultural awareness, and diplomatic skills. Modules covered Malaysia’s role abroad, diplomatic protocol, consular services, administrative management, effective communication at post, and Pengurusan Jenazah (Funeral Management), preparing officers and their spouses to handle sensitive matters overseas.

The course concluded with a closing ceremony officiated by YBhg. Dato’ Agus Salim Yusof, Director of LNPD, who commended the participants for their commitment and enthusiasm. In his remarks, Dato’ Agus also expressed appreciation to the distinguished speakers, facilitators, and the organising team for their contributions to the course’s success.

Positive feedback from participants reflected the programme’s impact and effectiveness in preparing officers and their spouses for overseas duties, empowering them to serve Malaysia with professionalism, resilience, and diplomatic excellence.
