Public Speaking Course

PSC2026 main

The Centre for Languages and Cultural Diplomacy (CLCD), Institute of Diplomacy and Foreign Relations (IDFR), conducted the Public Speaking Course from 8 to 10 April 2026 at IDFR, Kuala Lumpur. The three-day programme was designed to strengthen officers’ ability to communicate with clarity, confidence and professionalism in workplace and public-facing settings.

In line with IDFR’s ongoing commitment to capacity building in professional communication, the course focused on developing participants’ ability to deliver speeches that were structured, purposeful and impactful. Key areas covered throughout the programme included speech organisation, verbal and non-verbal delivery, confidence-building techniques, and practical strategies for managing nervousness during speaking engagements.

The programme brought together officers from various ministries and agencies which had enriched the content and variety in every session.

Through a combination of structured instruction and practical speaking sessions, participants were given the opportunity to apply the techniques learned during the course in their final presentation session. The programme underscored IDFR’s continued role in supporting officers’ professional development through targeted and practice-oriented training initiatives.
