Arabic
The Centre for Languages and Cultural Diplomacy (CLCD), Institute of Diplomacy and Foreign Relations (IDFR), concluded the “Arabic Language Professional Communication Course for Wisma Putra Officers” that has been ongoing since 25 August until 5 November 2025.
The 42-hour course was conducted online, with participation from eighteen officers from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, some of whom had previously participated in the Arabic Language Day-to-Day course conducted earlier this year. With the objective of helping the officers enhance their foundation in the language, the trainer guided them in broadening their vocabulary through various activities, thus equipping them with further mastery of the language as well as knowledge of Arabic culture.
French
The Centre for Languages and Cultural Diplomacy (CLCD), Institute of Diplomacy and Foreign Relations (IDFR), concluded the “French Language Professional Communication Course for Ministry of Foreign Affairs Officers” that was conducted online via Zoom application from 25 August until 5 November 2025.
The 42-hour course was conducted online every Monday and Wednesday evening, with the participation of twenty-eight Ministry of Foreign Affairs officers, several of whom had previously participated in the French Language Day-to-Day Communication Course. With the intention of strengthening the officers’ foundation in the language, they were guided by the trainer through more complex vocabulary-building activities and practical exercises in applying the language, thereby improving their mastery of French and their knowledge of the cultural aspects relevant to French-speaking contexts.
Spanish
The Centre for Languages and Cultural Diplomacy (CLCD), Institute of Diplomacy and Foreign Relations (IDDR), wrapped up the “Spanish Language Professional Communication Course for Wisma Putra Officers” conducted from 25 August until 5 November 2025. The course was conducted online for a total of forty-two hours to enhance the officers’ knowledge and mastery of the language.
With thirty-four participants from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, including those who had previously completed the Spanish Language Day-to-Day Communication Course, the trainer guided participants through practical activities and exercises, enabling them to gain a deeper insight into the language and its culture beyond the basic level.
Russian
The Centre for Languages and Cultural Diplomacy (CLCD), Institute of Diplomacy and Foreign Relations (IDFR), has completed the “Russian Language Professional Communication Course for Wisma Putra Officers”, a continuation of the previously conducted Russian Language Day-to-Day Communication Course. This 42-hour course was conducted online from 25 August to 5 November 2025, every Monday and Wednesday, with participation from twelve Ministry of Foreign Affairs officers.
Designed to support the officers in continuing to learn the language, the officers participated in various activities, including multiple speaking practices, which allowed them to familiarise themselves with using the language in formal settings. This had also helped the officers improve their fluency and confidence in communicating using the language.
