The Centre for Leadership, Negotiation, and Public Diplomacy (LNPD), Institute of Diplomacy and Foreign Relations (IDFR), successfully conducted the Pre-Posting Orientation Course for Officers and Spouses of the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) from 10 to 13 June 2025.
This tailored four-day course welcomed 16 participants, comprising MOHE officers and their spouses, to prepare them for their upcoming diplomatic assignments at Malaysian Missions abroad. Designed to strengthen readiness and professionalism, the course focused on essential areas such as diplomatic protocol, consular affairs, and administrative procedures, all critical for effective service in the international arena.
Participants engaged in a series of interactive and insightful sessions covering key topics including diplomatic practices, consular responsibilities, and mission operations. The carefully curated modules not only offered practical knowledge but also highlighted the importance of good governance, operational efficiency, and strategic representation in Malaysia’s foreign service.
The course concluded with a closing ceremony officiated by Dato’ Agus Salim Yusof, Director of LNPD, who lauded the participants for their enthusiasm and dedication. He also acknowledged the invaluable contributions of the speakers and the organising team, whose collective effort ensured the programme’s success.
Feedback from participants was overwhelmingly positive, with many expressing increased confidence and clarity in taking on their future roles abroad. More than just an orientation, the course served as a meaningful platform for professional growth, mutual learning, and institutional collaboration.
