International Negotiation Course for Junior Level Officer
The Centre for Leadership, Negotiation and Public Diplomacy (LNPD) of IDFR has successfully hosted the International Negotiation Course for Junior Level Officers from 21 to 23 of July 2020. This course was specially designed for the junior officers from grade 41 to 44 in developing their negotiation, self-confidence and effective communication skills. This course was attended by 31 participants from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (KLN), the Prime Minister’s Department (JPM), the Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI), Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM), and the Malaysia Palm Oil Board (MPOB). Ms. Shanta Nagendram was invited to conduct the course held in the Dorsett Hotel, Kuala Lumpur.
The course aimed to expose the participants with the negotiation skills in the global setting, as well as to share the experiences and the advanced knowledge on international negotiations. This course also can be deployed as an additional knowledge for the participants before they will be directly involved into any negotiating exercises in representing their organisation in the international platform. Mr. Istaq Nadzril Abd Kader, Director of ASEAN Political and Security Community, the ASEAN-Malaysia National Secretariat, Ministry of Foreign Affairs was also invited and delivered his lecture on “Personal Experience in International Negotiation”.
At the end of the course, IDFR believes that all participants had been equipped and prepared to represent Malaysia in negotiation exercises abroad. YBhg. Dato’ Mohd Zamruni Khalid, Director General of IDFR accompanied by Mr. Hamizan Hashim, Director of LNPD, delivered his closing remarks and presented the certificates to the participants during the closing ceremony on the last day of the course.
