Negotiation Course for Mid-Level Officers
The Institute of Diplomacy and Foreign Relations (IDFR) successfully hosted its highly anticipated Negotiation Course for Mid-Level Officers from 6 to 8 August 2024. This course was designed to equip officers with the advanced skills and confidence needed to navigate complex negotiations with greater finesse.
Organised by the Centre for Leadership, Negotiation, and Public Diplomacy (LNPD) at Mercure Living Putrajaya, the course brought together twenty-five dynamic participants from a diverse range of ministries, agencies, and divisions. These included representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry, Ministry of Health, National Security Council, Malaysian Investment Development Authority, Science and Technology Research Institute for Defence, Sarawak State Secretary’s Office, and Malaysian Productivity Corporation. Their enthusiasm and active engagement throughout the sessions were commendable.
The course was meticulously crafted to enhance participants' negotiation skills, enabling them to achieve win-win solutions and excel in collaborative problem-solving. Through interactive sessions and teamwork-driven exercises, participants gained the confidence to handle complex negotiations, fostering trust and cooperation across various sectors. To further enrich the learning experience, the Centre invited expert guest speakers who shared their insights and best practices in leadership and organisational management. These sessions offered practical, actionable strategies that perfectly complemented the theoretical concepts explored in the course.
In conclusion, the Negotiation Course for Mid-Level Officers was a resounding success, not just in imparting knowledge, but in empowering future leaders with the skills and confidence to make a meaningful impact in their respective fields. The course was not just an event, but a transformative experience for the participants.
