The Centre for Political Studies and Economic Diplomacy (PSED) successfully completed the Strategic and Security Analysis Course (SSAC) from 30 June until 2 July 2025 in Kuala Lumpur. The course gathered 20 participants grades 9 to 12 from various ministries, government agencies, and state secretary offices which aimed to sharpen critical thinking and problem solving skills amongst government officers in national, foreign policies as well as defence policy to better implement decision-making skills in today’s fragmented world.
Modules covered under the course included Malaysia’s Foreign Policy and Strategic Interests by Dato Westmoreland Palon of IDFR, Malaysia’s National Defence Policy and Strategy by Lt. Gen. Dato’ Seri Haji Muhammad Huzaimi Sabri of MiDAS, Tools for Strategic Analysis in Decision Making by Mr Wan Fadzil Adlan, Senior Consultant, Malaysia’s Strategic Goals for AI by Ms Noor Azwa Azreen of CyberSecurity Malaysia, Economic Security and Trade Wars by Dr Muhammed Abdul Khalid of IKMAS UKM, and Strategic Communication in the Age of AI by Mr Tillandran Achuthan, Senior Consultant.
Throughout the course, participants actively engaged in lectures and group discussions, where they were given the opportunity to exchange views and opinions about policies and topics of discussion. They were also exposed to issues on Artificial Intelligence and cyber security and how digital technology is becoming increasingly crucial in today’s world. These sessions and hands-on activities not only provided participants with better understanding of today’s geopolitical and economic uncertainties but also equipped participants with the knowledge of effective communication and decision-making skills in real-world situations.
On the final day, participants were awarded certificates of completion by Ms Maslina Mamud, PSED Director, in recognition of their successful completion of the Strategic and Security Analysis Course.
