The Institute of Diplomacy and Foreign Relations (IDFR) successfully hosted its highly anticipated Leadership Course for Mid-Level Officers from 7 to 9 October 2025. This course was crafted exclusively for mid-level government officers poised to take on greater leadership responsibilities.
Organised by the Centre for Leadership, Negotiation and Public Diplomacy (LNPD) at Premiera Hotel Kuala Lumpur, the course brought together twenty-seven dynamic participants from various Ministries and Agencies. They were representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Prime Minister’s Department, Ministry of Economy, Ministry of Education, Ministry of National Unity, Ministry of Housing and Local Government, Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation, Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security, Ministry of Plantation and Commodities, Ministry of Youth and Sports, and Ministry of Health. Their enthusiasm and active engagement throughout the sessions were commendable.
The course aims to develop essential leadership competencies to empower participants in maximising their leadership potential and effectiveness; enabling them to accelerate professional growth and make meaningful contributions to their respective organisations. Through a blend of theoretical knowledge and practical applications, including case studies, sharing of experiences by the industry players, role-playing exercises, and interactive workshops, participants managed to enhance their communication and interpersonal skills, plus build confidence in managing complex leadership skills.
In conclusion, this transformative training equips leaders with essential leadership skills and promotes transparency.
