On April 12, 2011 Y.Bhg Dato Ku Jaafar Ku Shaari DG of IDFR gave a talk on “The New Middle East: Impact On Business and International Relationship” at the UIC Seminar Hall, UiTM International Centre, UiTM Shah Alam. Associate Professor Dr Zaini Abdullah, Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Research and Innovation officiated and gave the opening remarks at the talk.
The talk was moderated by YBhg Dato’ Dr Mohd Yusof Ahmad, Director, Institute of ASEAN Studies and Global Affairs (INSPAG), UiTM and was joined by Dr Chandra Muzaffar, President of JUST Malaysia, Assoc Prof Dr Waleed F. Faris, Deputy Dean, Corporate Strategy & Quality Assurance Office International Islamic University Malaysia, and Mr Amir Rostam Khah, PHD Candidate of Embassy of Iran.
The discussion centered on the events unfolding in the Middle East at this time and how it will affect its neighbours and the world at large, especially in terms of Business and International Relationship. Dato Ku Jaafar Ku Shaari provided an interesting insight to the subject matter as well as to also share his personal experience having served as a Charge D’Affaires and ambassador to Jordan and Qatar respectively.
The talk was organized in collaboration with the World Islamic Economic Forum Foundation (WIEF) and Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM). The talk was attended by fellow academics, researchers, and international and local UiTM master students including officers from IDFR.
