Special Talk In Conjunction With Nuzul Al-Quran’s Celebration
IDFR organised a Special Talk entitled “Puasa Mendidik Jiwa” held on 18 August 2011 in conjunction with Nuzul Al-Quran’s celebration. The talk was delivered by Dr. Mohd Ridhuan Tee Abdullah, Senior Lecturer, Department of Nationhood and Civilisation, Centre for Liberal and Language Studies, National Defence University of Malaysia.
The special talk is an element of IDFR’s Ihya’ Ramadhan’s celebration which among others, featured Majlis berbuka Puasa Bersama Anak-anak Yatim Rumah Titian Kasih Titiwangsa, Tadarus Al-Quran (recital of Al-Quran in a group), Zohor group prayers, Islamic talks and also Bubur Lambuk distribution.
Dr. Mohd Ridhuan Tee Abdullah emphasised on the ways Ramadhan, if being practiced accordingly and stately could nurture the soul to enhance the identity as Muslims. This would further cultivate the entire Muslim community with noble essence thus, benefiting the society because once the inner-self is strong, the outer-self would follow suit.
The talk also highlighted on how some Muslims tend to overdo the sunat requirements overshadowing the fardhu requirements, i.e. Umrah is being done yearly but not Haj and the Tarawih prayer is being given weight during Ramadhan but not the fardhu prayer.
Dr. Mohd Ridhuan Tee Abdullah also stressed that in every action taken, it should start from within the soul with full sincerity and this would be triumphantly reflected in all subsequent actions.
The talk ended with the presentation of memento from YBhg. Dato’ Ku Jaafar Ku Shaari, Director General of IDFR to Dr. Mohd Ridhuan Tee Abdullah and followed by Zohor group prayer.
