Institute of Diplomacy and Foreign Relations (IDFR) added another feather in its cap on 16 June 2012 by proving that IDFR is not just a training arm for the Malaysian Foreign Ministry but also an Institute that contributes to the society by organizing Corporate Social Responsibility events. IDFR recently initiated the “Kami Prihatin” programme in collaboration with Yayasan Chow Kit as a platform to change the public’s perception towards the Chow Kit Road community especially the young ones. The programme started at 2.00 pm as the teenagers registered their names, followed by an ice breaking session at 2.30 pm.
Thirty one (31) participations heartily took part in the programme. “Kami Prihatin” Programme was designed to educate the teenagers on the prevention of drug addiction and the consequence of drugs to the human body. Besides that, the programme also aimed to develop and showcase the natural talents that the teenagers possess by doing outdoor activities such as flash mob, and busking in public areas nearby the Yayasan Chow Kit compound. All in all, the memorable programme has managed to instill hope and encouragement in the young teenagers’ lives as it has shown them that there are still people who care about their fate and welfare.
