Innovation Day of the Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka 2012 was held on 20 December 2012 at the Auditorium in Dewan Bahasa and Pustaka (DBP). This event was graced by YB Senator Dato’ Maznah binti Mazlan, the Deputy Minister of Human Resource. Also present at this auspicious occasion were YBhg. Dr. Awang bin Sariyan, the Director General of DBP, Encik Kamarul Zaman bin Shaharudin, the Deputy Director General of DBP, Department Directors and Division chiefs as well as Director of the Fire and Rescue Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur and distinguished guests.
The objective of this event is to promote innovation among the staff members and officers of DBP as well as to launch the Hari Inovasi Dewan Bahasa and Pustaka 2012. Certificates and awards were presented to the staff of Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka for the acknowledgment and appreciation of their contributions in various aspects especially in terms of creativity and innovation.
The highlight of this ceremony was the speech by YB Senator Dato’ Maznah binti Mazlan. She mentioned the importance of preserving Malay language by encouraging the staff to converse in proper the Malay language and should not be mixed with English.
Institute of Diplomacy and Foreign Relations (IDFR) was represented by Miss Shereena Kamarulzaman, intern from Academic Studies, Research and Publication Division.
