Useful Tips for the Diplomat’s Wife

Unlike many diplomatic training institutions around the world, IDFR is unique in that, each year, it conducts a one-year masters degree programme. This is done jointly with the National University of Malaysia (UKM). The Master of Social Science in Strategy and Diplomacy degree is earned by a combination of coursework and the submission of a project paper or thesis, with students enrolling in a maximum of four courses per semester.

The Masters Theses Catalogue 2006: Institute of Diplomacy and Foreign Relations (IDFR) Masters Theses 2000-2005 catalogue lists all masters theses from the year 2000 up to 2005. To date, there have been a total of 80 theses completed for the degree, on a wide range of international relations topics. Completed theses for the year 2006 will appear in forthcoming catalogues. The present catalogue provides brief information on the titles and subjects of each thesis, with an abstract of each arranged by year. The catalogue represents a first effort to document the research efforts of IDFR’s students for the future benefit of both students and practitioners of diplomacy. It is hoped that this will be a step in the right direction toward helping IDFR in its research efforts, research being one of the vital aspects of training and which has become more and more valuable to its parent organisation, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
