The Making of the ASEAN Summit, Related Summits and the First East Asia Summit Written by IDFR former Director General Ambassador Dr Fauziah Mohamad Taib, with a foreword by The Honourable Foreign Minister Dato' Seri Syed Hamid Albar, the book The Making of the ASEAN Summit, Related Summits and the First East Asia Summit was commissioned in order to chronicle the journey taken by Malaysia in hosting the 11th ASEAN Summit and Related Summits. For too long now, Malaysia's experiences as a host nation have gone undocumented, at least in published form. It is hoped that the publication of this book will serve as a guide to future events. |

Selected Foreign Policy Speeches by Syed Hamid Albar The book Selected Foreign Policy Speeches by Syed Hamid Albar, published by IDFR in 2005, is a compilation of 75 selected speeches and statements made by The Honourable Dato’ Seri Syed Hamid Albar over the past six years since assuming the post of Minister of Foreign Affairs, Malaysia, in 1999. The speeches and statements are organised thematically in the book, covering areas such as foreign policy, ASEAN, Palestine, the Organisation of Islamic Conference (OIC), peace and security, the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM), South-South cooperation, the economy, humanitarian assistance, human rights, terrorism and bilateral relations. |
