The Director General of IDFR, His Excellency Dato’ Ku Jaafar Ku Shaari paid a courtesy call to the office of the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, His Excellency Usmanov Oybek Arifbekovich at the republic’s Foreign Ministry on 20 February 2012. His Excellency Dato’ Ku Jaafar Ku Shaari was accompanied by His Excellency Ambassador Aziz Harun, the Malaysian Ambassador to the Republic of Uzbekistan.
During the warm and amicable meeting despite the 3 degrees Celsius temperature outside the ministry, both the Director General and the Deputy Foreign Minister discussed at length about the close cooperation that had existed between the ministry and IDFR. The Deputy Foreign Minister acknowledged that IDFR had provided quality training for its officers over the years and this bode well for the ministry and the republic respectively. The Director General reciprocated by extending the invitation for the ministry to send its officers to attend courses under the Malaysian Technical Cooperation Program (MTCP). His Excellency Director General also noted that the ministry had submitted the names of eight possible participants to attend the courses at IDFR in 2012.
At the end of the visit, His Excellencies exchanged mementos and the Deputy Foreign Minister extended an invitation to His Excellency Director General to visit the various interesting and historic places in the republic in the future. .
